A Parang Mandau is used
by the Dayaks ethnic groups at Kalimantan Borneo. From the photos you
can clearly see that the parang’s sheath is made of WOOD which is
showing with smoothly and awesome carved with Dayaks motifs. The sheath is plaited with
extremely finest and amazing rattan plaited knobs. The blade has very nice carvings at the top. The parang’s hilt is
carved from one piece of deerhorn, heavily carved with Dayaks traditional
naga dragon motif. This parang is also come with a carving knife. This carving knife is attached at the back
pocket of the parang. This pocket is made of tree bark
which is attached to the parang. It attached with a big seed as buckle – to hock the parang arround the
waist.
